How we communicate with you

The Faculty and University use several channels for communicating with PGR students.

Doctoral Academy website

The website has essential information on policies and procedures relating to postgraduate research, including all forms relating to PGR requests.

You will also find PGR-related news and information about opportunities to get involved with activities such as becoming a PGR Rep, the PGR Society, public engagement, and teaching opportunities.

Each month, you will recieve a PGR Bulletin from the Doctoral Academy. This will include the latest news, opportunities and support available to PGRs.

My Manchester student portal

This is a single gateway for accessing key tools, services and information to support your experience, as well as your emails.

It is your responsibility to ensure that that you maintain up-to-date contact details (including emergency contacts) on your University record via the self-service facility in My Manchester.

School and Division Blackboard space

Some Schools or Divisions will host information on Blackboard, our virtual learning environment.

You will find a link to the Division Blackboard space for postgraduate students within My Manchester.

University email

At registration, you will be supplied with a University email account, accessible through My Manchester. You will also be added to a Divisional email mailing list. This will be how key information will be communicated to you.

We will only contact you through your University of Manchester email address, so you must check this account regularly. Please note that your IT account (email and P drive) will be accessible while you are registered and during any periods of interruption and extension.

You will lose access to the account at the end of your graduation month. You should ensure that you manage your documents and emails so that you do not lose these once your IT account has been closed.
